It's here!!!

The title of my new book is
"Up and Tat 'Em"

This is my 2nd tatting pattern book - 28 pages, over a hundred color photos. Here's what is in it:
  • "Five Petal Pendant"
  • "Grand Aura" earrings
  • "Beguile" set of necklace, bracelet, and earrings
  • "Fancy Closures" (frogs)
  • "Atom" pendant
  • "Belle" pendant
  • "Wondrous Window" stained glass effect pendants (3 variations), bracelet (or bookmark), and earrings
This book is the same size and general format as Boutique Tatting with even more photos.

This book is written from a shuttle tatter's point of view. My projects do tend to be a bit "off the beaten path" and challenging, so I recommend this book for folks who already know the basics of shuttle tatting. Of course, I said the same thing about Boutique Tatting, and clever needle tatters have told me they've enjoyed my patterns as well.
A little promo for the printer:My books are printed at PrintGraphix, 4749 S. 76th St., Greenfield, Wisconsin 53220. They do a great job of printing and are wonderful people, too!
Available in my Etsy Shop.

Thank you so much to everyone for your wonderful encouragement, which has given me the energy to complete the Up and Tat 'Em book.

Congratulations!

I would have ordered immediately if not for the fact that I had only just placed orders for two books a few minutes ago, :)

Wonderful! I can't wait to get my copy! Do you autograph? : )

Thanks :-D

I'll autograph if people ask. Lately I've been putting in a sticky note with my signature on that when I wasn't sure if people wanted it autographed or not.

Ohh! I just bought it before even reading the comments. Would you autograph mine? The order is for Teresa and just went thru at 9:27 eastern time. I've admired your work (both thread and patterns) for a long, long time. I finally bought some thread and have been having a terrific time with it!

Congratulations on your new book, and I love the title!

Will this be available for sale at Palmetto Tat Days? (I only ask as I just made a big tatting purchase and my hubby would KILL me if I spent another dime before Tat Days.)

If not, then I will hatch a plan to free up the necessary funds as soon as I can. I have been waiting, like WicketTats!

This is a fabulous accomplishment! I'm quite envious of your ability to do this! All of your work is SO professional - from the designing to the tatting to the writing of instructions (an art in itself), the photography, and finally, the publishing!

The 'Big' magazines should be very worried about the power of the individual today to bypass them entirely and to self-publish! It's a marvelous age we live in!

Congratulations, many times over!

Thanks so much, everyone!

Isdihara, no, I won't have anything at Tat Days this year.

Kathy Niklewicz, yes, it is really a marvelous age we live in. If someone would have told me 10 years ago that I'd be publishing my own books and shipping them all over the world, I'd have said they were crazy, LOL!

hi! i'm a big fan of yours ; i think your work is terrific and i'd kill to know how to dye threads as beautifully as you do. since i'm on a killing-diet at the moment, i'll just try and make the wonderful pieces you published (THANKS) in your books.
question: if your 2 books are ordered at the same time, is the shipping cost the same or is it possible to have it a bit reduced?
anyway i can wait to have them, they look amazing!

Love this book but need to know which thread to order for the 'Wondrous Window'. Been trying to find it on upir etsy shop but running out of time so please can you help. Thanks......Susan

To make the Wondrous Window pendant you'll need size 20 thread in black plus a multicolor variegated to get the stained glass effect. Any bright multicolored thread will look nice. But if you are wondering what I used in my models in the book I used hand dyed from the Corsage, Garden Afternoon, Rhubarb Pie, Roses, and Nightwind batches. But really any bright multicolored thread works out beautifully for these pendants - there are some good choices in Lizbeth, too.

i am starting tatting i do well with needle got shuttle what do you suggest i like your book. and designs did you make them yourself. if so how can i make my own?

Marilee Rockley said...

mecca, the designs in my book are all ones I made up myself. It sounds like you have many tatting questions, so a good place to get many answers and learn a lot about tatting would be to join the online guild, Intatters
