...and spears into pruning hooks...

A design to compliment the "Swords Into Plowshares" necklace.
Even though the imagery isn't obvious, I still think they're pretty. And, as a gift to my blog readers:

The earring pattern is available for free!
I've prepared it as a PDF file,

Other exciting news: I've been informed that I will soon have a tatting article published in Bead & Button Magazine, in the April 2012 issue. Yippee!

Try Tatted Treasures youtube video at:
http://youtu.be/BKYQ3EHJ1NU

She has a great blog with lots of absolute beginner tutorials, too, at www.tattedtreasures.com/

Or, try signing up for Georgia Seitz Online Tatting Class, http://www.georgiaseitz.com/

A good book for beginners is "Learn to Tat" by Jeanette Baker which comes with videos on a DVD.

Hope one of these suggestions helps. Once you "catch on" to how the double stitch is made, you'll see how easy it can be.

Clyde, thanks so much. Sometimes people seem to think I'm just doing shameless self-promotion, but actually it's the beautiful craft of tatting that deserves more attention.
