New original design tatted choker collar necklace

After several weeks of tatting, picking out, re-tatting, cutting out, tatting more, cutting again...I finally have a high collar design that I'm relatively pleased with. Although I might change the top edge a bit and add picots there, I'm not sure. What do you think of it?

The designing part was hard, but the actual tatting may be easier, when I can get the pattern written up properly (not done yet). No split rings in this design at all, but it does use 2 shuttles, floating rings, and a few beads. I put metal beads along the lower edge to add some weight to prevent the collar from curling up, although I'm not sure if they're really needed.

I finished the necklace very simply, with a ribbon to tie in the back.

It's shuttle tatted in size 10 Lizbeth thread, and I used Czech Druk glass beads and some metal beads that I bought at Eclectica.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone, it's much appreciated. I've tried wearing it lower, like a regular necklace, but the way it's curved it only lays right as a high collar. I've wanted to try designing a high collar for ages, so I guess it works!

Beautificent! Whether needed or not, I like the effect of the beads at the lower edge of the collar. I don't think I'd put picots around the top -- too easily bent up by a moving neck.

Thanks, Marty, I was thinking the same thing about putting picots on top.

Fabulous!! Will you be selling this beauty? I would love to buy it!

Thanks, this is my prototype so it's been "through the wringer" so to speak, lots of cutting, re-working, etc. I'll make a new one for the Etsy shop.
I'll also work on getting the pattern written up, along with other patterns people have been asking for. Always busy :-)

I think it is lovely, Marilee. I particularly likes how it fits up the neck a bit. I only wish I was tall enough to have a neck long enough to wear it.

Very delicate and feminine.

Quite eye-catching, beautiful! Lovely, lovely design. I was thinking the same way as Marty, no picots at the top as they would have a tendency to curl (I think). I can see my daughters wearing this.
