Double Flower Using Celtic Shuttle

A simple flower idea, tatted with a bead in the center., with an extra row of petals, interlocking Celtic style.

This green Celtic shuttle was acquired from Handy Hands Tatting.

Continue tatting, bringing each chain under and through before each lock join.

What a cool look! Okay, you've convinced me, I need one of those shuttles so I can try this. Thanks for sharing how you did this.

I was so excited to see these new shuttles at Handy Hands and hope to order them. They are a shorter length than netting needles (which is great) , and they work perfectly for this project! Of course your tutorial is beautifully presented, as usual! Thank you again for sharing yet another technique!

Lovely pattern and it looks so easy by the way you explain it, I think I must try and buy one of those shuttles, may have to try and get one from America as I have not seen them here in the UK. Investigation starts today.

Great idea! I have those shuttles, but I haven't tried them for Celtic tatting yet. Soon... soon...

Thanks for the nice comments, everyone. It seems that a thin, flat shuttle could be make out of a plastic lid or milk jug that was ready to be recycled, too, but I haven't tried that yet.

Very cool! Your tutorials are really great! I think a tatting needle could also be used in lieu of the long thin shuttle. :)

I cannot get enough of your visual aids (aka: photos). You make it so clear that I know "I" can even tat that.
Thank you, Marilee...
