Done, written, shipped

My original projects pictured are now done, patterns written, teaching application forms filled out, packaged, and shipped off to the jurying committee to be considered for classes at the 2016 Bead&Button Show.

I must admit to being a little bit overwhelmed at being the only tatting teacher there, so I do encourage others who use beads in tatting to submit classes as well. You need to be a resident of the USA or Canada. Teachers from other than these countries may apply to teach, but will need to be sponsored by a United States company due to VISA regulations. More information is on the Bead&Button Show Teaching Application.

I now need to get back to labeling my hand dyed thread skeins ("Celery" green is in my Etsy shop), finish up some orders, and get outside to enjoy some summer sunshine while it's still here. Also, I need to make sure that I have all the supplies needed for the tatting class that I'm teaching at Shake Rag Alley on August 1. Looking forward to that!!!

Thanks for the information, that is really nice, I was wondering, do you plan on teaching people that already know how to tat at this show? I guess so cause I would not be able to tat this first time :) I have never been must be big event cause not many people know this around here :)

Madtatter80, I submitted 2 classes: a basics class and an advanced class. The earrings project is for the basics class, which is for beginners who don't yet know how to tat. They spend most of the day practicing the double stitch, and learn chains, rings, picots, and the picot join. Only a few of them usually get as far as the project; but for the Bead&Button Show all classes must feature a project, even if the students will not complete the project in class.

The "Dazzling Debut" pendant shown is for the advanced class. For that one, students need to already feel comfortable with the basics of shuttle tatting (double stitch, rings, chains, and joins) and are looking for new challenges.

Yes, this is a very big event. The Bead&Button Show is the world's largest consumer bead show. It lasts almost 2 weeks, and in 2015 over 700 classes were offered.

Both pieces are beautiful! I think I might be able to make them. Now, if I could only manage to make it to the Beat & Button Show!

Well done! It seems like you're ahead of schedule! I don't think I could keep up the pace, even when I was younger! I'm quite impressed with everything you do!

Wow, thanks for answering all my questions, I need to get out more huh :) I think it is great that this is so large there, we had a very nice bead shop here in town and I guess there was not enough people interested to keep it open ( I loved it) it moved once to different side of town but just couldn't stay open. one day I will travel more with tatting but not able to for now.

Love those little earring, but then I love almost everything you tat. I like the way you have incorporated the beads, finding and thread together. Sure to get a remark or two when worn. Best of luck at Bead&Button (that magazine is where I first saw your art.)

Love everything you make, I used the Celery Green thread sample I bought from you to make a pair of earrings. I will have to buy more now. Great class on CRAFTSY!
thanks , Judy
