Got my hair scrunchie done!
The idea came from TattingChic's post here. I made mine in size 10, and the color is my own hand dyed "Lola", which I am sorry to say that I'm currently sold out of in my Etsy shop, but I will get some more made.
O.T. I have been practicing my cello for a classical concert that includes difficult music by 2 very different composers. Here is my music critique in tatting of their respective styles:
Enough said.
I love the music critique, what a difference in style. Hope the concert goes well. Wonder which style you like best!
ReplyDeleteYour critique made me laugh! I know which one I'd choose! Love the scrunchie, but I am NOT growing my hair long just so I can have one!
ReplyDeleteROFLOL...loving that critique in tatting of those musical styles. That says it all. I'm glad that you figured out how to do the scrunchie with rings over the elastic...KUDOS to you! Have fun at your concert this weekend.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Very GOOD!
ReplyDeleteI've just caught up on your blog after a few weeks of being snowed under with work. I absolutely love the tourmaline set--far and above all of the others. The hair scrunchy is lovely. Good luck with the concert.
ReplyDeleteYour visual critique of music is a very good idea it leaves you with a feeling of how the music is not just a mental picture.
ReplyDeleteGoogle sent me to your cello blog first so I commented there - great crossover in interpretation of one medium to another.
ReplyDeleteYour scrunchie thread reminds me of the Manuela variegated that was discontinued and that everyone loved so much. I've been meaning to try that scrunchie too even though I have no hair to put in one. My granddaughter does though!
My daughter, Katrina, who plays the flute, found your music critique hilarious!! Katrina also saw the scrunchie and said "oohhhh how pretty, I want one" So, I guess I'll be making one or so of these for her. Good luck at your concert this weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou all "got it" with my tatted music critique - I'm so pleased! Tatting it out really helped me to vent some of my frustration, and I think you've guessed that the most frustrating is the piece by A. Schoenberg.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see a musical critic with a Latin flavor...
ReplyDeleteYour music critique is sooooo true! I'm still giggling. My nieces both want a hair scrunchie after having seen TattingChic's and yours. One more thing to add to the list!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I feel like my "audience" is calling for an encore!
ReplyDeleteKathleen, Latin rhythms are very complex, so to tat with a Latin flavor would be a very advanced piece of work! Maybe I could work up to that one.
Marty, I'm glad your nieces want the tatted hair scrunchies. More people will see them and discover that tatting is NOT a lost art!
Hi Yarnplayer, it's TattingChic, again. I just wanted to let you know I finished my Scrunchie, too and posted it on my blog with a link to Karins pattern just in case anyone would like to see the pattern.
