Here is what Bina has to say about them:
"Both show how I changed the finding attachment method to the one Nina uses in her Beanile work with the sandwiched rings. Also the segment bridging the second layer using the spiral tatting including the beads, uses 40 size 11 beads per side regardless if they are regular or hex beads. In the mulberry one, I substituted clunys for the victorian sets going in and out of the first round of petals with the large bead between."I think they're both incredible! I'm so thrilled to know that people can be inspired by my little seeds of ideas to come up with their own fantastic creations. Keep going!
What a lovely collaboration of talent!
ReplyDeleteFabulous work. Very inspiring. Thanks so much for posting this.
ReplyDeleteHi Marilee,
ReplyDeleteI saw both of Bina's necklaces when she was in Hector last weekend...and I even took pictures of both. The necklaces are very pretty. The pictures don't do these necklaces justice.
Thanks, ladies - Bina wanted me to share these photos here.
ReplyDeleteCeltic Dream Weaver, visiting with Bina in person must have been such fun - maybe I will be lucky enough to get to one of those gatherings someday.
Both of them are very beautiful! I love your patterns.
ReplyDeleteHi Yarnplayer, thanks for your sweet comment on my blog today.
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question:
I never thought of the book thong working that way. I actually don't know how it works! I just thought it went on the page like a bookmark with the cross hanging down one end and the bead hanging out another end! LOL! I don't really know. She's made some other ones that have beads on both ends so I think that's how they work...both ends hanging out. There's no reason why you couldn't do it the way you had suggested, either! :)
Absolutely stunning.
ReplyDeleteMaking these was just too much fun! It was such a pleasure showing off the necklaces at Hector and meeting everyone there. Thank you Marilee for a fantastic pattern to work with. I hope to see more of your wonderful designs published. I also love your hand dyed threads.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sherry and everyone for your compliments.
Big hugs snd smiles, Bina, Everett WA
