Ok, I finally finished the set of 4 variations on the "stained glass window" theme. So currently I am working on a page of description to send along with them to the
magazine editor, along with the pattern for the simplest version. If it doesn't get published, well, then it will come back here to be published on this blog.
Next I really need to get another dye batch ready. I think it is about time for some more "Rhubarb Pie" :-)
Oooooo! Beautiful! Those make me want to go right now and buy some black thread. I hope the magazine does accept it (in a way -- selfishly, it would be nice to have it available on your blog). :)
ReplyDeleteI always read your blog and just love your work. I want to learn how to tat so badly but am unable to find classes in Vermont. The "stained glass" is absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marty - that's very flattering. You might try the black with colors effect on some of your beautiful hoop projects.
ReplyDeleteJoansie, I hope you will learn to tat! I am self-taught, myself. I don't dare make a video since I "tat weird", LOL. BUT there are several really good videos online made by excellent tatters to help you learn - I put a few links on the side of my blog under "Tatting Videos". Good luck!
Marilee, your pendants are gorgeous! I hope the magazine accepts your work for publication. I might just have to go shopping for black thread like Marty!
ReplyDeleteI was just wondering what happened with your stained glass experiments. They're so lovely it will be a shame if the magazine doesn't accept it.
ReplyDeleteoooohhh, very pretty!
ReplyDeleteDiane, I'll look forward to seeing what you come up with! I used black Flora on these since I had it on hand, but I really like the new Lizbeth.
ReplyDeleteVictats, thanks so much. I'm sending this stuff to the same editor that liked my work before, so it may get in, it just takes quite a long while with magazines.
Thanks very much, Gina!
The magazine would be crazy to not accept your tatted stained glass pendants. They are gorgeous!!! Good Luck!!
ReplyDeleteStained glass, just fab, adore bright colours with the black thread, must have a go with those colour combinations. Well done
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous!!! Good luck with that! Hope you are able to get them published. I'm sure there will be no problem.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pendants. Very effective use of black thread. : ) Fox
ReplyDeleteThose are georgous!
ReplyDeleteCarol, thank you very much. It all depends on what they are looking for at the time.
ReplyDeleteHi Sally, nice to "meet" you! Another blogging tatter, hurray! I've added your beautiful site "Tat's Heaven" to my tatting blogroll.
TattingChic, thanks! If I get into another magazine, I'll definitely shout about it :)
Thanks, Fox, glad you like the idea!
Heather, thanks so much for your compliment :)
Will these be available on your Etsy shop?
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking, Donna - I just shipped these to the magazine editor, but I guess I should get some more made up to sell. First, though, I will finish the hand dyed thread batch I am working on, "Rhubarb Pie".
ReplyDeletePlease do. I wear my butterfly earrings you made and get so many compliments on them!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely wonderful. The magazine would be amiss not to publish these beautiful pendents. I am looking forward to the release of the pattern.
ReplyDeleteWOW just gorgeous......I love them

Thanks, Clyde, so nice of you to say.
ReplyDeleteJoy, glad you like these!
The stained glass pendants are gorgeous! I love them. I know the magazine will accept them! Can't wait to see the new Rhubarb Pie. Does anyone buy more of it than I?
ReplyDeleteTattycat, thank you very much for your kind show of support.
ReplyDeleteAs for the "Rhubarb Pie", it really is one of the most popular of my HDT! I had some delays but hope to have a batch finished and up for sale later this week.
I am in awe! This has to go on the top at the top ten in eye candy! You are so talented and gifted, thanks for sharing your beautiful craft!
ReplyDeleteOmonSan, what a nice thing to say! Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteThe magazine would be out of it's mind if it didn't accept them. They are sooh original.
ReplyDeleteThanks much, Tatskool. I'll shout about it with glee and let everyone know if anything of mine does get published :-)
ReplyDeleteYour pendants are stunning, absolutely beautiful.
