Skein winding in progress

Here's a peak at my skeinwinder, showing a skein being made for the next HDT batch. BTW, yes, I did paint the floral design on it myself :-) My beloved yet oft-neglected loom can also be seen in the background.

What I'm planning is to hand paint some warp stripes in the same colorway as the tatting thread skeins, then weave a table mat that may be embellished with a matching tatted edging. Purples and blues, I think. We'll see what happens.

  1. What a lovely work area you have and the picture on the wall is so pretty. This is one of yours that you made using the loom and your own HDT?

  3. Thanks, Diane. It's an essential piece of equipment for me!

Carol, I did weave the hanging, several years ago. I used my own hand dyed handspun yarn, plus commercial yarn to make it. Thanks for your compliments! You're too kind!

  9. I could not resist the results of the loom in your hands. I bought both of them? My favorite color combination. I may just take some of your HDT and tat an edging for each...hugs, Bev
I, too like your work space. And one of these days, I'm ordering a wall hanging; don't be too quick to sell that loom. hehehe The word verification fit: dorklest that's me!

  10. Isdihara, thanks for that glowing interpretation of the glimpse of my little "studio". In reality it's quite messy and dusty, which doesn't show on the photo - LOL!

Ridgetatter, I'm so glad you liked the towels! I take your encouragement as a sign that I should indeed keep the loom and continue weaving! I hope there is some HDT in your collection that will match the colors well enough. Maybe I will have to come up with something new...hmmm....
