The bottom photo is the closest I was able to get to capturing the flower in its true purple shade, using a borrowed camera.
What I'm trying to say is I was so inspired by the color (which you can't see!) that I dyed a batch of thread to capture the colors of that flower. The hand dyed thread does come pretty close to the bright deep pink and purples I see!
My photos of the thread are fairly good, but those darn flowers - I just had to put them in the photos,

Confused yet??
Beautiful color.
ReplyDeleteThe camera never does seem to do justice to the true beauty. I love the color of this thread. I'm afraid I'm going to have to go shopping again!
ReplyDeleteReally stunning, you do such a wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors, thread and flowers both!
ReplyDeleteI love this colour!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful!!!!!!
ReplyDeletethat is some gorgeous thread! I have a few Grandpa Ott blossoms left (I also have never been able to photograph them accurately) and it's a very good match! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, the variety IS Grandpa Ott! Oh, I'm thrilled that the thread colors came close enough to be recognizable! Thank you, Jill.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks to everyone for such nice comments :-)
Cameras just can't do what our eyes can with color so don't be too down. Your HDT is awesome!!! :)
ReplyDeleteConfused--possibly, aaaa maybe not. The thread colorway is beautiful, though!!!
ReplyDeletewonderful colours. I will be ordering some to make dragonflies
ReplyDeleteYour thread is beautiful - and I love morning glories! Color is a funny thing - cameras just don't have that artistic eye that we do :)
ReplyDeleteYeah! this flower is "Purple Glory" and I like it. Wish I can also add it on my garden. Thanks for sharing.
