Earrings in spite of summer heat

These are not a perfect maple leaf shape, but I think they're cute. Leaves come in so many shapes anyway.

So far no progress on the purple and silver necklace from 2 posts ago. I need to feel "in the zone" for ideas to come, and the summer heat has drained nearly all of "the zone" out of me! I did manage to finish a pair of earrings to match the "Duchess" necklace that is in my Etsy shop. I had to use size 10 thread since I didn't have any size 20 in those hand dyed colors. Usually I like size 20 for earrings. Anyway, I do like the color combination of the thread and beads.

  11. Beautiful earrings and necklace. Actually before I read the part about leaves I thought the top ones were butterflies! Although the top middle part does not look like it belongs on a butterfly, but the rest does.

  12. Thank you so much for the wonderful, cool comments! (Cool in every way!) So refreshing to read these.

The leaf earrings have already sold (wow, that was a quick sale!) so I'll make more.

To answer the question about the "Duchess" necklace, the pattern is in Boutique Tatting, and the finished one in the picture on my blog post is currently for sale

I like the butterfly idea, and I agree, I think it wouldn't take much tweaking to turn the pattern into a butterfly.

  17. I love your new earrings Marilee! Is the pattern for the earrings to go with the "Duchess" necklace going to be up for purchase on your Etsy shop? I have the book but would love to be able to make earrings to go with the necklace too.

  18. I would love to be able to make those earrings to go with the Dutchess Necklace too. I see that it's part of the design of the necklace, but I'm new enough at this not to know how to isolate that part of the pattern and add the part on top.

  19. Okay, I'll add the earrings derived from the "Duchess" pattern to my "to do" list. I didn't think anyone would really like the pattern since it is in 2 parts and therefore more ends to hide. But, it's not hard, otherwise. Still, it will have to wait while I sort out leaf ideas.

  20. Thank you for putting it on your to do list! I just saw the post about the new leaf pattern you've put in your etsy shop, can't wait to order them! I LOVE all your patterns, they are beautiful to look at and such inspiration! Thank you for keeping at it for all of us newbies!
