Starting to write up the Ripple necklace pattern


Finally I'm getting around to writing up the pattern for this necklace, which I've entitled "Ripple". I'm planning to make it a free pattern, and it should be a good one for teaching. So far, I've figured out that the first ring is 6-2. An accomplishment in itself, since I first tried 2-6 and that was wrong!!! Of course I tried to open the closed ring, which I usually can do, but this time it didn't work, so I had to start again :(
Anyway, it starts R 6-2. Ch 7-3. R 2-4-2. That's as far as I've gotten, with the next chain being 3 and then a join to the previous chain, which is what is happening in the photo at left. I'll finish the pattern as soon as possible.

The motivation for this is that Discovery World asked if I would teach tatting classes there again. I'll post the dates as soon as I find out where they've put me in their calendar, probably Saturday mornings but I don't know which ones yet.

    Thanks! This is actually a necklace I made (and sold) last year. It has taken this long for me to get around to starting another one so that I can figure out how to write the pattern.

    for allowing us to have some free patterns and your tutorial on youtube I love the music!!!
    I am very new to tatting, I am in the progress of teaching myself, been two weeks so far. I love your DREAM pattern and going to try it even tho I have never tatted in my life..I am such a "want to learn it yesturday" person that I am going to challened myself.
    I have made a blog in hopes to make tatting friends AND to share what I am doing without going too insane of getting knotted up!

    I love this one, it's gorgeous,
    I have been very lucky this week, I found your book on amazon, they only had one copy left so I grabbed it, it arrived yesterday, so far I have not been able to put it down.
