Hoping this'll do

I like how my new design turned out, but I'm not sure what artistic title to give it. Ideas?
The comments given in my previous post were very helpful - thank you! Actually I had them in mind while continuing to design. This pendant probably doesn't resemble anything suggested! I really don't know how to explain why that happened. But, a special thank you to muskaan and Ninetta for the technique of curled rings!

Since time is running short, I'll just have to write up this pattern and submit it to the selection committee. I may get a few different color combos done, but I'll stay away from teal and gold for a while, because I got thoroughly sick of that color combo during my experimenting :)

Greater Milwaukee Tatting Guild meeting today! More info on the guild blog.

  1. I love it ! Colours, pattern & all !
It reminds me of a drop, droplet about to fall on a petal --- a water droplet or a dew drop in the process of dropping .... does that make sense ? Maybe some title/name that could capture the imagery ?

As regards curled rings, all credit goes to Ninetta -- I could never have come with such a lovely effect/technique. She's a tatting engineer !!! I'm just a teacher, perhaps :-)

  2. I love your design and the colours, as for a name, I have no idea I feel it needs something really unusual for a name.

  6. Love this design! How about something like "Emergence" as It puts me in mind of a flower emerging.

  7. Both are lovely but I prefer this one. Wonderful work, a real 3d design.

  8. Beautiful! I thought, "Queen's Glory" or something at first (I don't remember, LOL), then my brain insisted that it was the Queen's Garden. I'm sure it's neither, but it's quite regal to my eyes!

  9. They remind me of Art Nouveau flourishes. Maybe Belle Epoch or Damask.

  10. Wow. Beautiful. Japonica comes into my head, but I don't suppose it's very sensible

  11. Reminded me of space too - as soon as I saw it I thought "Celestial" :)

  12. I love the design! So intricate, yet easy to "see". I have no suggestion for a name yet. I'll be thinking about it on my hike.
I agree that kudos go to Ninetta and Muskaan! I love the technique of folding the rings. I feel honored to be able to study with them.

  13. Thank you for all your name suggestions! I think I'll go with "Dazzling Debut". This name was inspired by the suggestions of space and celestial, which became dazzling, and the suggestions of emergence and regal which became debut - "Dazzling Debut"!

  14. Wonderful name! The folded rings fascinate me. I'm sure there will be great interest in this piece! I find both designs to be very appealing. You're making quite an impression with the Bead and Button artisans!
