"Summit" hand dyed shown in size 10 |
"Summit" is a new dye batch that is inspired from the view I saw from the summit of Mount Evans in Colorado. I attempted to capture the impression of the shaded blues of the sky and distant mount tops, a bit of white from the clouds and snow, and the gray browns of the rocks.

This is so refreshing !!! Beautiful colourway
ReplyDeleteVery effective.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Time to go shopping!
ReplyDeleteThere are a couple of videos that people made, taking the drive up to Mt. Evans! One speeds it up so it's more like a roller coaster ride! I admit I'd have trouble navigating some of those twists and turns! Gorgeous scenery and must be so exciting to drive it. They also have a wonderful road up to Mt. Haleakala on Maui, which we drove in 1982. You start at sea level with palm trees. Halfway up I thought we were in Pennsylvania with dairy farms, then gradually less and less vegetation till you thought you were on the moon! I'll never forget it!
ReplyDeleteA while ago I found spectacular photos of white mountain goats on the web, and discovered they were taken on Mt Evans, so one could 'easily' get photos of them and not have to 'climb' the mountain! You'd still have to be careful to get the shots!
It's a good thing that I hadn't seen those videos of the drive up Mt. Evans before we did it, or I would not have gone up! Scary, but so beautiful that I am very happy to have had the experience!
ReplyDeleteThe thread looks beautiful and I love the inspiration for it too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for attending the rally and for being so upfront about it.i used to say it was fun standing in line tatting while waiting to get on a rollercoaster. Now I proudly say I tatted at the Kids March in DC
ReplyDeleteHope to see you at Palmetto this year. great job....
