Well, I just thought it would be cool to make a piece of jewelry using one of my spent cello strings.The tatted motif is one that I made up, sort of as I went along. It's a bit odd, but fits the string.
I used size 20 Lizbeth cotton and size 11/0 seed beads, with a jet faceted teardrop at the bottom.

Thanks! Attaching the fastener was the hardest part for me. I chose to bend over the ends of the cello string, then covered them with a finding called a "cord end" and flattened it with a pliers over the ends of the string. Then attached the clasp with a jump ring.

Recycling at it's finest, and the black and orange is perfect for Halloween. I like the way it fits on the string; looks like it will stay where it's supposed to.

ReplyDeleteThe beads are actually an iridescent red - very hard color to capture in a photo. But, I do have some orange ones...hmmm, you've got me thinking!

Whatever hand dyed thread you see in my shop is all I have. It is always in limited supply because I lovingly hand paint it all myself.
I don't do custom orders.
