Heart with 2 threads as one
While rummaging through my stash, I found a sparkly gold embroidery thread (DMC brand, on a spool, polyester/rayon blend) and wondered how it would combine with some Lizbeth size 10 cotton. I'm reporting that there were many tension problems! I'm not sure if it was because the 2 threads were different sizes, or because they were different fibers.
But, I doggedly persevered, and managed to finish the heart (which is from my "Unfolding Heart" pattern). I also added beads (which are not in the original pattern) and finished it off with gold filigree connectors and gold plated chain. I think it looks pretty, but this heathered version will likely be a one-of-a-kind, since it was so labor intensive to make with this particular combination of threads.

Very pretty! I totally understand why it's one of a kind!
bellissimo
For all the work you did on it, it turned out very nice indeed! I usually have trouble with that sparkly thread, but if you can get it to work the finished pieces look nice with it.
Totally fabulous! Maybe you'll find threads that work more easily together! These do look great, however! And the pattern is excellent! May I also ask where you get the necklace connectors? They add to the finishing touch!
Thanks! I don't remember where I picked up those particular connectors, but these days filigree links of all sorts are available from many bead shops.
It´s a very beautiful necklace!!
very, very nice necklace ! :)
Very Pretty!
I have a lot of trouble with using 2 threads, normally one stretches more than the other. You did an incredible job, very pretty indeed!
