Here's what I decided to do for "Garden Afternoon":
Make the skeins longer (46 inches in circumference, or 1.16 meter), giving me room to put in the 10 colors used. Usually my dye batches are from 4 to 6 colors, so for this colorway I really needed to do something different in order to make everything fit. The circular painting method I tried first just took too much of my time.
Actually, I may continue with the larger circumference skein for all my batches, since it makes for less winding and more room for color. To help show what I'm talking about, here is a photo of 2 of the new skeins next to 2 old ones, along with a measuring tape. The yardage of the skeins is the same.
Here are a pair of earrings tatted in the first batch of "Garden Afternoon", from my "Carnival" pattern. Just one shuttle!

This is such a beautiful batch of thread I love it! :)
Ooh! 10 colors! Will you be dyeing each individual color? I'm thinking of the Spinning Wheel idea we discussed at the L.A.C.E. event. I'm interested if you're willing!
I love the colors. Thanks for the pattern too.
I like the new color. Is it up on your Esty? The earrings really POP with this color thread!
I'm so glad you did some more! I went straight to etsy and ordered two skeins so I wouldn't miss out this time!

You are all too kind!

I LOVE this thread and the earrings look beautiful tatted in it!
I'm glad you were able to figure out a way to keep making this color. It made my day to hear that you will be sending some thread to the Palmetto Tat Days.
Wow the earrings look beautiful in this thread.
I love how you got more yellow in there this time. I need to tat off the skein of first batch that I have so I can have the 2.0 version now....
