Another new necklace experiment. The thread is size 20

Country Turquoise Medium. I used 8mm Swarovski crystal pearls for the centers of the motifs and earrings, and size 4mm Swarovski Crystal bicones for the light colored sparkly beads. Embellished all around with size 11/0 seed beads.
I made separate medallions first, then connected them with tatted rings and chains. The neck cord ended with beaded split rings with beads between.
This necklace measures about 18 inches long. I would have preferred it a bit shorter, but since I started at one end and worked around to the other end, it was hard to estimate how many split rings would be needed. I think next time I'll start somewhere in the middle and make each side separately, then stop when it's long enough.

Once the basics of tatting are mastered (double stitch) the rest is just playing with it, really.
just playing with basics? well that may be, but some people's play just turns out better then others. their brains are wired a bit differently, not so stuck in a box, you can see things in progress, we can't until they are finished.
This is another fabulous necklace!
Very clever to tat the medallions separately, then join them with the rings and chains, making it all look 'seamless', yet a little less stressful to tat! Very clever, and well done!
It's true that it's 'just' rings and chains, but you turned them into this unique and gorgeous piece of jewelry! The bead sizes and colors and the thread color are all perfect together!
