A very old tatting book showed a pretty motif with 5 "petals", and seeing it inspired me to design this black pendant. I may tweak the center a bit before writing up the pattern.
The earrings were also inspired by a vintage pattern. I like how they turned out, but I am thinking of variations that may improve on the design.
Here is another pendant started in HDT (same design as the first).
My weaving project has gotten to the actual weaving stage, yay! I decided to put some Brooks Bouquet (the part with the "holes") on either side of the patterned area. I think I will leave the center part of the cloth plain, with bands of patterning at the ends. So far I'm very happy with it! Yep, I'm thinking this table runner will be way too lovely to ever part with - but hey, I think I put on enough warp for two!
For those who have been patiently waiting for the "Sugar Maple" HDT - I'm sorry it's taking so long! Should have the new HDT added to my Etsy shop in a few days.

Wow I love that pendant! The earrings are beautiful too!
Love the black pendant. Very, very pretty. I think it is the simplicity that makes it so appealing. : ) Fox
Your pendent is lovely. I can't wait to see the HDT version. The table runner is very pretty--I always wanted to learn how to do that.
Your work is gorgeous. I adore the pendant.
What a beautiful set! That pendant is gorgeous! Beautiful work. You make such lovely things, Marilee! I really do admire your work. I appreciate that you share so much of your talent, too!

The pendant is gorgeous! I may have to drive up and visit you and learn how to warp my loom. I really want to learn to weave, especially when I see beautiful pieces like this runner!
Hi Marilee,
I'm TOTALLY speechless about all your recent posts. Your tatting and your tutorials are fantastic. And, of course, your dyed threads are gorgeous. Then if that isn't enough, you're weaving 'again', apparently after almost abandoning the loom. Just looking at the setting up of the threads on the loom makes me queasy. I'd never get to the weaving part! There is simply no end to your talents (I'm not forgetting about the cello, and your calligraphy, and your painted design on the thread winder!). We're so fortunate to have you in 'Tatland'.
The black pendant is STUNNING! I am also curious how the pattern will translate to HDT - I like the beads you chose for that version.

Golly, what a lot of very nice comments! That's so encouraging - thank you!
WOW, The pendant and earrings are stunning. I can't wait for the pattern.
P.S. I love how you have the photo of your finished pattern on the sidebar...to get to the pattern! Wayyyyy cool! :)
I'm simply overwhelmed by all the lovely comments you super-nice, talented folks have made!
I don't have the pattern for this one (the 5 petal pendant) finished yet, but I hope to write it up and do some sort of illustration sometime. There are several ideas I'm kicking around - as usual, more ideas than time, LOL!
BTW, I'm mostly self-taught at warping a loom, and the book that got me started is called "Hands On Weaving" by Barbara Liebler. You may be able to find it at your local library.
the 5-petaled pendant is totally gorgeous! love the earrings too.
you weave very well! can't wait to see the finished piece.
Beautiful set. In particular, the medal I like it! perfect, I would like to make one of these.

Marilee, love that pendant and earring. You are so talented.
Lovely work! all of it.
I would like to ask that the medals, bracelets, earrings you used to tightened?
Sometimes I just string a ribbon through the pendant, to be tied around the neck with a bow in back. But at the bead store I found some clasps that are made to finish the ends of a ribbon so that it can be fastened like a necklace. I will show those next time - thank you for asking.
I am still looking for a good way to fasten a bracelet easily and snugly. So far I have used a bead, as on this post:

but there must be a better way.
I love your new colored threads. And your pendant and set is so pretty! Linda
