Tatted earrings in springtime colors

Of the many colors offered in Lizbeth brand cordonnet cotton thread, # 115 "Springtime" is one of my personal favorites. These earrings were tatted from my own "Carnival" pattern, found in the Tatted Jewelry book.

I was too eager to take the photo before blocking the earrings, but that's next. My favorite method for blocking tatting is to steam it with a hand held steamer with a plastic sole-plate that doesn't get hot. Mine is a vintage "Steamstress II", but a search may turn up something similar.

Lovely earrings! I used to have a Steamstress II. I have no idea what happened to it, but it worked great.

Your earrings do look great in that color (I'm not sure they wouldn't look great in any color!) I've been tatting quite a bit in "Springtime" as well. Haven't done any of it with beads yet, though I have some that would look good with it.

These earrings are gorgeous, as usual! I don't know if I've asked before - What kind of camera do you use? Your photos are perfect and highly professional, as is all your work, including your tutorials and your blog. And apparently you're not having a problem with the new Blogger interface?

I'm intrigued about the 'steam iron'. I guess I didn't think that would be possible - to get an iron that close to tatting, even with a special sole-plate!

Thanks for all the info
on the iron and the camera! I do have macro capability and I'm generally pleased with my now 6-year old camera (my first digital) but it has only 5mp. I also want a more powerful lens for zoom shots for birds, especially the blue herons at our local lake! I like knowing what cameras to look for and also software. But you're being modest about your photography skills!
