At our May meeting we had a new tatter join us. Here I am (I'm wearing the "Craftsy" shirt) helping her learn the double stitch.
The new tatter's very first double stitch! The girl is a natural!
Here's her first tatted ring! An amazing accomplishment for someone who never tatted before.
Some of our happy group. Next month there may be more, as a passerby became so interested in what we were doing, she signed up to be notified of our next meeting.
By the way, our group now has a leader's assistant, Ana (in the blue shirt). She'll take my place (helping new tatters and passing out "goodie bags") if I'm not able to make it to a guild meeting.
Beautiful work, not yet blocked, by Heather, a very prolific tatter.

Ooh, where can I sign up to be notified of the next meeting? Please let me know at unstrung22 at gmail dot com
Thanks!
Looks like you had fun, nice to see yet another new tatter, and beautiful tatting at the end.
Margaret
It looks like you had a lot of fun!
I hope you can make it Saturday. We'll also have a new tatter!
I have never done any tatting, but I've become very interested after following this blog for a while. I've even purchased some supplies and looking forward to when my current crochet projects are finished so I can try this beautiful needle craft. Thank you for sharing.
Looks like a fabulous tatting day!! :)
@Cris R, I'm adding you to the email list for the Milwaukee guild. The meetings are always the 2nd Monday of the month. A reminder email is sent about a week before.
@Lace-lovin' Librarian ~ Diane, yes I plan to come to Tollway Tatters.
@Helen, tatting is a lot of fun! A little tricky at first but once the double stitch is learned the rest is much easier and the results are so rewarding.
@God's Kid, yes it was a fun tatting day! The inspiration for the Milwaukee guild came from the fun times at Tollway Tatters :)
@Margarets designer cards, thanks, it really is nice to see how people improve their skills when there is a group to encourage them.
The group is growing! Word is out! Its exciting to see the progress being made! They must be totally mesmerized by your own tatting! I can't imagine at a young age being personally taught tatting by an author and craft video star! :-)
Oh my - what a nice gathering. Go Heather go - wonderful tatting in the photo.
Yay! Thanks :-)
How cool. It looks like you had fun.
