These are REALLY great tutorials! This is the way I tat, because I found a tutorial MUCH like this on the internet about 9 years ago. I used to have the link on my sidebar, but one day the tutorial was gone. I'm going to add your links.

I have been doing my tatted stitches in a different way, which I find easier, don't relax the left hand finger, I just form the knot on the left hand yarn, is this wrong.
As I can't use my left hand fingers well due to arthritis.
Please advise
The way of tatting that you're describing seems like "direct method tatting". It's mentioned in the book "The Complete Book of Tatting" (1985) by Rebecca Jones. On Muskaan's blog there is a post Direct Method Tatting that might be helpful.
