Random Act of Kindness Giveaway

To be entered in this giveaway drawing, you need to do 2 things: leave a comment on this post, and do something nice for someone. The world needs more kindness.

The prize package includes 2 of my pattern books, a tatted bracelet handmade by me, an assortment of metal filigrees (aka "doodads"), a Sunlit tatting shuttle, a size 14 crochet hook, and a colorful assortment of hand dyed thread!

I'll draw a lucky winner on Tuesday, July 1.

WOW! What a giveaway! Thanks for doing such a nice thing. :) I am taking a needy friend to dinner this evening-hope that qualifies as an act of kindness. Please include me in the drawing.

This is such a nice thing for you to do! I'm presently heading put of town to drop some ingredients, only available in Santa Maria, to a new friend 30 miles away. Don't know if that qualifies as random except she didn't ask-I text'd her and asked her the status of said ingredient. Doesn't matter though, since #1 never gets picked. ;-)

What a great giveaway from an awesome person!
Thank you for being so kind yourself.

And thank you for entering me in the drawing.

My act of kindness happened today at church. Our keyboard player is leaving us temporarily to go to school in TX (from NC) for music. Not sure what else this young man can learn, he's awesome already! And we gave him some money to help him fulfill his dream. Although finances are low, it felt real good to do this. I'm happy for him and will miss him greatly! Hope that counts.

Thank you so much for the opportunity. I live with a housemate for the past 15 years, everyday, we do something kind for each other. I have been giving away my abundant squash to my neighbors. A new family moved into my neighborhood and I took a antique child's desk for her 2 year old, that was yesterday. Today, I did a few small stuff. Doing kind deeds is rewarding, it's a blessing to give!

I am donating a few tatted headbands to a friend. Her daughter was recently diagnosed with cancer and they are having a fundraiser to help with her expenses. I wanted to make something pretty she could wear while going through chemo and came up with the idea of making headbands.

Please enter me in the giveaway! 2 acts of kindness in 1 week: A neighbor's daughter was struggling to get a pull-start lawn mower to work. It was evening and she still had a lot to mow. I took the riding mower down and helped her out. She eventually got her mower working again (the throttle cord had broken) and we finished together. And then another neighbor's riding mower isn't working yet, so loaned him ours for a day. Will continue to look for opportunities!

And, I'll definitely do more random acts of kindness, too :)

I would love to be entered!

Acts of kindness. Do these count, this is what I did this past week for others. I beaded earrings for my oldest daughter. I baked bread for a neighbor who is not feeling well. My youngest and I walked another neighbors dog because she hurt her foot.

Funny, I don't necessarily think of those things as "acts of kindness". Just part of being able to live with myself as a person. :)

Love the giveaway! Best of luck to everyone!

This was meant to be!! I plan to order one of your books this week for my daughter who is searching for a 4H project for the upcoming county fair. Last year she made your Dream necklace, earrings and pendent to show at the fair and won Grand Champion!! So we are back for a new idea and possibly thread to make whatever she chooses with. This giveaway would be the PERFECT set up for her project of the year.

My act of kindness was taking some home cooked meals for the week to my 81 year old father who lives alone. He is pretty self sufficient, but there is nothing better than home cooked fair.

Last week we were at the doctor office. When we were leaving there was this lady who was walking around and I said to my husband we had to go back, caused it look like she didn't know where she park her car. I ask her and she said she misplace her car didn't know where it was. Ask her to get in our car we take her on the other side. She park it near a church parking lot. She would of been there a long time if we would not had help her find it.

I recently bought your "Up and Tat´em" and "Beaded tatting", and must say I LOVE THEM!

My tatting is good therapy for me, and the more inspiration the better!

I´m dealing with traumarelated problems, too big for me to handle alone, so I´m currently hospitalized for a boost in the right direction. My random act of kindness will be for myself, since that´s probably the hardest one of all. So - tomorrow I´ll try to be nice to myself, and I´m pretty sure that I´ll soon be back home with my family! <3

Thanks for being an inspiration <3

Yes, please, may I be entered for a chance to win this glorious giveaway? I found a lost dog today, running loose (no collar). Ran home for some treats and was able to get the dog to come to me. I hugged and petted it and fed it treats until a frantic owner caught up to him. Turned down payment from the owner. (I find a lot of stray pets, but am just happy they get home safe.) more acts of kindness to come!

What a great idea! My random act of kindness - I'm going to tat up one of your patterns for a friend for no occasion whatsoever!

Tat it forward!!! Lol (as in Pay it forward, but I was being corny ;)
I bought a meal for this soul sitting on the footpath in the middle of peak hour, everyone rushing off to work. She had a sign next to her, asking for coins, saying she had lost her job, homeless etc. yes I know the story could be a con but everyone needs food right? But you should have seen her face when I asked her what did she exactly need money for.
II also gave her a little tattedflower that I had in my portable tatting bag,and asked her to do something nice for someone today. She nodded and gave me a big smile.
I hardly do this sort of thing, esp now that I've just been made redundant. But every once in a while, instead of walking away or just giving coins, I like doing something a bit different. And I thought of Marillee's post, and wanted to do it, regardless of the prize... The biggest prize for me is doing a little something for a random stranger, because at least I still have a roof over my head and not sitting on the sidewalk.

I almost didn't see your Facebook post and I am glad that I did. I love your designs, have wanted to try your yarn and I really enjoy helping people because so many have helped us through our hard times over the last few years. Two years ago this August our son Nathan passed away. He didn't have much and what he did have we tried to sell and put the money we received in an account for his daughter who lives in Pittsburg with her mother, his ex-girlfriend. What we could not sell we gave to his friends. It was very difficult to get rid of his things but we had no where to keep them. Everything was gone except for our car we let him use. My husband and I couldn't stand to drive it so it sat in our driveway wasting away. Nate had a very close friend who now does a lot of things for us that Nate previously did. His friend needed a car. So we thought what a good thing to do with the car. We gave the car to him from Nate. Nate would have been pleased and it made us happy as well. The only problem is when we hear the car pull into the driveway we think it is Nate. I am sure Nate is watching over his friend while he is driving the car.

Every time I go to this shopping centre, there in the food hall is a guy, he walks around the tables looking for left over food! As I was sitting there eating MacDonalds, he had a free coffee so I purchased him bacon & egg burger as I walked up to him, he grabbed it so fast to look in paper bag! So now I always buy him something to eat when I go shopping..
Also we have a bus ticket $2.50 travel on all day.. After shopping and I get off bus, there is always a older lady sitting at the bus stop, I always pass my ticket on, so that person can use it! They are always happy! Because they are saving money.

I would like to nominate Fox, she has done more than 1 act of kindness just in the past couple months. Twice I have opened my mailbox to discover tatting presents from her. They brightened my day when I was spending the last 2 months in the hosp with my husband after cancer surgery. To come home to a surprise in the mailbox was a huge day brightener.

Such an amazing giveaway from an amazing woman :)

My random act of kindness occured yesterday (June 29) on my way back to Nashville after visiting family in Michigan. We, of course, got caught up in the traffic congestion in Louisville, KY and we creeped along for approximately an hour trying to cross the bridge. Just before reaching the bridge, with the end of the jam in sight, I happened to notice a young couple with children pulled as far onto the shoulder as they could get. They had run out of gas in the midst of all the congestion. I loaded them all in the car with myself and the kids I was travelling with (at least they were in air conditioning again) putted along for another 30 minutes or so, finally got through traffic and took them all to a "travel" center. Once there, I bought everyone cold drinks, bought a gas can and gas, loaded everyone back up in the car and got back into the traffic headed the other way. After a very long time, we were able to get back over to the other side of the interstate headed back the direction we were originally travelling. We inced along until we were back reasonably close to their vihicle, at which point the young man left my vehicle with the can of gas, ran ahead and got their car running. When we pulled up alongside their car, the young woman and their children only had to leave my car and get into theirs which was running and cool. I let them merge out in front of me and everyone was back on their way to their destinations.

My parking garage is under construction. My neighbour's car was covered in dust, so I cleaned her windows so that she could safely see.

Thanks for sharing!

Fabulous idea! Perhaps I shall treat the person behind me next time I go to Starbucks, or make cookies for the soldiers working on base with my husband this week, or both!

What a terrific idea for a giveaway! Please count me in. We try to make opportunities to do random acts of kindness each and every day. Yesterdays involved transporting a young couple, who do not have a car, out of our city to their vacation destination. And today was a simple act of holding doors for a gentleman on crutches trying valiantly to navigate his way into a building! Big or little, it alls helps make the world a little better place!

What a wonderful giveaway! I love that you have asked a random act of kindness to be part of the requirements.

Someone paid for my husband's coffee yesterday because he held the door open for them, so that will be my next act of kindness too. Coffee for the next person in line behind me. :)

I am going to send two jars of Chutney to a not so well known friend. She has to figth breast cancer and now was left by her boyfriend as well.
We were talking to a third Person about what to do with a heap of fruits. my friend suggested Chutney. So I know she likes it and she sure will be very surprised to receive some out of the blue. She needs some good thoughts of a friend.

I'd love to be entered in your giveaway!

As a random act of kindness, I gave the woman (new immigrant, very little english) in front of me at the grocery store a couple dollars so she wouldn't have to choose what to put back when she didn't have enough. She wasn't buying any "junk" food, all necessities. And I did it on Saturday before I saw this post!

Wonderful thing to do for a giveaway. I will be doing my act of kindness this afternoon for my hubby by doing something while he is at his doctor appointment.

You are all so very kind!!!!!
It's a wonderful surprise to me that so many people actually posted details about their random act of kindness, I wasn't expecting that - but the stories are so truly inspiring!

I've decided to add another prize package similar to the one posted. So, I'll draw 2 names.

Will close the commenting now. Thank you so much to everyone who entered the giveaway, you're doing more good than you know!
