Necklace and earring set in "Pond" hand dyed

This necklace is tatted from hand dyed thread (Pond batch) combined with Lizbeth (Country Turquoise), both size 10. I added seed beads in sizes 11/0 and 8/0, accented with Czech pearl-coated glass druk beads in turquoise blue. After adding the ribbon the connection seemed a little plain, so I tatted a few rings around the ribbon to make sort of a "tatted bead" effect.
The earrings needed a little extra stiffness, so before attaching the hooks I painted the tatting on the back only with fabric stiffener. Looks messy going on, but dries clear. The type of stiffener that I used is "Amazing Fa-Brick" available from https://www.sculptingstudio.com/textile-hardener.html

Beautiful set!

I have been looking for a good way to stiffen my tatting. Is Amazing Fa-Brick archivally-safe and acid free? Non-toxic?
Also, does it have any smell? (I am sensitive to chemical scents and perfumes.)

@ChristineAtAlchemyStitchery, very good questions about Amazing Fa-Brick. Those are the same things I'm wondering about. There is a users review about the product on Crochet Uncut http://crochetuncut.com/?p=234

Thanks for the link, Marilee. It had a lot of useful information, but nothing about the longevity of the product.

Right, Christine. If you find a review with information about Amazing Fa-Brick's performance over a length of time, please let me know, as I am wondering the same thing. I haven't used it long enough to be able to report on that.
