To wax philosophical, I believe that tatting should be showcased alongside other art and craft forms, otherwise how will more people become inspired to see its potential? Oh yeah, and the show is in my town, so no travel expense for me :)
Also on the calendar for 2017 is teaching a beginning shuttle tatting workshop at Shake Rag Alley.
In my life outside of tatting, I'm playing my cello again and singing soprano in the choir. We are preparing a lot of Christmas music. It's nice to be part of a group effort. As tatters/crafters/designers, we spend a lot of time in solitary activity, don't we? Be sure to take time to get out for doing something meaningful with a group. We are all multi-gifted people, and we never know how many people we inspire by sharing our talents.

Don't be so modest! Without a doubt you are one of the best around. Your steampunk earrings are gorgeous (as usual)!
Have fun in your classes!! :)
I would love to hear you play your cello and hear you sing!! :) Enjoy the choir-I miss being in a choir! :)
I agree with Michelle! You deserve to be included among the best! You have been eons ahead in designing and techniques, and are a fabulous ambassador for tatted lace. Those earrings are fabulous!
I was wondering if you were still playing the cello - and now also singing. You are multi-talented! You certainly have a busy schedule!
Glad to hear that you'll be showing the flag for tatting! Yes, it needs all the exposure it can get, I still see remarks about it being a 'forgotten craft'. I think that tatted jewellery is a wonderfully practical and modern direction for tatting to go, so people don't think of it just in terms of doilies.
Tatting is well and truly a voice that is heard when you go to these special places.
Teaching tatting is speading the word of a wonderful art that has been forgotten for a long time.
Your beautiful tatted jewellery patterns are wonderful. I got your book from Amazon uk and it's a beautiful book
For the first time i go through your blog. I found it informative and those jewelry designs are very attractive. Gifts From Singapore
Those earrings are gorgeous! I love reading about the shows you attend, and the fact that you are teaching two classes at the Bead & Button show is really wonderful!
Thanks, you folks are the best!
For those interested in choir music featuring cello, give a listen to this hauntingly beautiful piece by Elaine Hagenberg;

Hang on now, that's NOT me, that's a professional cellist with a professional choir, but is the same piece I've played on my cello every Sunday in Advent, and some people said my cello playing sounds like the recording - ha! :)
You are the best! I agree wholeheartedly with the solitary/group thought. After the injury, I found the organ frustrating. The choir healed me and I am back playing what I can. Here's to spreading tatting and organ! And yes, the Hagenberg is my new favorite Veni Emmanuel! Well done!
