Progressing on "Victory" pattern

An in-progress photo from my version of the "Victory" pattern.

Slowly, I've been making progress on writing up my necklace version of the "Victory" pattern, based on a vintage collar pattern of the same name. The vintage pattern can be found in "The Tatter's Treasure Chest" published by Dover. My pattern varies slightly from the original collar and has beads added. Quite a while ago someone asked me to write up my version, so I'm finally getting around to it! Probably several weeks before I have it finished.

My necklace laid over the photo from "The Tatter's Treasure Chest"

Bobbin lace ornament from a Jenny Brandis pattern

I messed around with a Jenny Brandis ornament pattern that is rather too advanced for me at this time! I like the results, but it bothers me that in order to keep the colored thread separate from the black I tied knots and cut, which seems wrong to me! Eventually I may try again.

Good way to update a vintage pattern. Love your bobbin lace motif, but of course the technicalities are beyond me.

Your updated pattern looks wonderful. I like it better than the original. :) The bobbin lace is gorgeous - much more advanced than I ever managed to get. :D

Ah yes....you bumped up against my biggest "problem" doing bobbin lace. I wanted the colors to be in the wrong place all the time! I've learned a lot more about color theory, so maybe I should try again??? In my copious free time (snigger, snigger) before Christmas.....

Your necklace will be a treasure too! It's nice that vintage patterns get some love and an upgrade. Your bobbin lace is pretty, I hope you find a better way of working with colours.

Writing up the patterns seems so tedious sometimes and it takes lots of time. ;)
I love your bobbin lace ornament!! :)

I love your updated version of the collar! Writing up patterns is so time consuming, which is why I don't venture into designing. I like seeing your progress with bobbin lace. Somehow, it just never caught my interest the way tatting does.

Thank you all very much for your nice comments! It helps energize me to keep working on the pattern.
Currently for me, bobbin lace is like playing with "new toys", yet also another means of creative expression with the many colors of thread I have accumulated!
