More "Tourmaline" on the way

More hand dyed thread is coming! "Tourmaline", batch 2.
The small skeins of coordinating solids are what I am going to call a "dye series", and will be offered as sets. These came about as an idea to use up those 12 to 18 yard lengths that were left on the original balls after making the larger skeins. I'm sure that there are tatters that could come up with very creative uses for them!

I love that you make solids to coordinate with the variegated. This is a very lovely colorbatch.

I love the Tourmaline colors, they are so pretty! I'm watching Etsy for them. I can't wait to order some and tat with it.

Oh yes please, Marilee. Now this would suit my flowers beautifully. Would you be so good as to let me know when they are available?

The Tourmaline was added to my Etsy shop April 28. I'm on my way to ship orders already received! Obviously, I didn't make enough, so there will be more, as well as more Nectarine, Rhubarb Pie, etc. I'll try to have more added in about a week.

I noticed that you have both S and Z twist threads. Is there a preference for tatting?

A handspinner! So cool that you observed the differences in the threads. Here I go getting onto my 6 cord soapbox now - but rather than repeat everything in this comment, I'll simply direct you to my blog post on the subject:
http://yarnplayertats.blogspot.com/2008/01/what-is-6-cord-thread.html

You'll understand as a handspinner that the 6 cord is a "cabled yarn" in construction.
The S twist thread is the pearl cotton, which has only 2 plies. It's a softer thread, and can be used for tatting by folks who prefer a softer thread. Pearl cotton also has many other uses, and I must admit I'm hoping to get other customers besides tatters to visit my etsy shop.

I don't know if it makes any difference in which direction the thread ends up being twisted; I think the "cabled" construction is what makes the 6 cord threads superior for tatting, IMHO.

Thanks for asking!
